Outbid again!
OK, in my hunt for the new stereo I was outbid in the last 7 seconds. How does that happen?
You can click on the image to view the screenshot larger, and see that I was outbid by a first-time bidder four seconds after my final bid was placed. How does that work? Any eBay experts want to give me some advice on how to win an auction?

I hear there is some website that does auction monitoring and automatic bidding for you. I think that is how those people do it. I’ll look into it and get back to you. -AHN
Yeah, it happenned many time on various Volvos I tried to get. I ended up doing the “Buy it now” option to finally get one.

I’ve done the same thing before. Place no bids and wait until <10 seconds before closing and put in your maximum bid. The element of surprise works in this case because even if you wanted to bid higher you have no time to react. -Jim
You’re looking for “snipe”… Either a sniping site (more reliable, but cost a few $ and you need to give out your ebay ID & pwd - are you trusting enough?) or sniping software to run on your machine (better hope your connection doesn’t go AWOL at the critical time)
I’ve used eSnipe.com quite a few times. Does what it says on the tin…
