Nothing to write about

There haven’t been any recent postings about the Black Saab Orange Stripe car because the car hasn’t been driven. Since the June 30 practce day, the car has been sitting in the grass in my front yard, parked with its racing tires on, in hopes of making it to yesterday’s WWSCC Autocross event 6.

Suffice it to say, I didn’t attend. Yesterday afternoon I had to move the 900 so I could mow the grass, and I moved it into the garage where I took off the race tires and reinstalled the daily tires.  Luisa helped me torque the bolts after reinstallation. Then I took it on a fun run up the freeway and back, doing 270 degrees of a cloverleaf intersection at high speed in the process.

I didn’t attend the race yesterday because I’ve been on the road way too much, and I just needed a day at home. It was great. I’ll get back to the racing, but I just needed a day off.

The 900 will be sitting in the garage for most of the next 2 weeks, then Erik and Katie will be visiting, and will borrow it for part of their stay, until they “upgrade” to the R to haul their bikes. Then the 900 will be my primary driver through the remainder of their visit.

Tomorrow Ani and I are doing Barrier Motors’ trackday… I had a great time last year, and am excited for the event tomorrrow!
